Young People's Sacred Harp Singing

The Utah Sacred Harp Singers cordially invite you to the 39th session of the Young People's Sacred Harp Singing on September 28 and the Utah Cooper Book singing on September 29.

(Don't let the name fool you! Young people organize the event, hence the name, but singers of all ages participate.)

Our weekend schedule:

Friday evening, September 27: Singing school with Kate Coxon, 7:00 P.M. , Social (including dinner with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options) to follow at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark, 231 E 100 S in Salt Lake City.

Saturday, September 28: Young People's Singing (1991 Denson revision) at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark, 231 E 100 S in Salt Lake City. Registration at 9, singing from 9:30-3:30.

Sunday, September 29 (note different venue!): Utah Cooper Book singing (2012 Cooper revision), **Due to weather, we have had to move Sunday's singing.** We will no longer be at Spruces campground. We will be at the Ivins ward building, 1860 S 300 E in the Sugarhouse neighborhood of Salt Lake City. Parking is in the back and on the street. The time is still the same, 1-4 pm.

We will be having social events as well, which will be announced here closer to the time of the singing. We hope to arrange some hiking excursions to some nearby trails on Friday or Monday if visiting singers are interested. More details to come.

September is a perfect time to visit Salt Lake, and if your schedule allows, we encourage you to spend a few extra days in Utah, either in the Salt Lake area or at one of our five beautiful national parks or other recreational areas.
